There are currently five breweries in the Fenland Branch Area:
Batemans,
Wainfleet
The oldest (1874) and largest brewery in the branch, well known for its
extensive range of beers from Dark Mild, XB, XXXB,
Salem Porter, Dark Lord, along with its seasonal ales and now with
GHA added to the core brands.
Leila
Cottage, Ingoldmells
Located at the Countryman
pub. Ace Ale (a
mid-brown session bitter at 3.8%) is
their main beer and is now also bottled. More details...
Riverside,
Wainfleet
Riverside started brewing in 2003
and their beers include Dixons
Light Brigade, Major & Desert Rat. Also fairly recently added
to
the stable are Glory Hunter, Old Diabolical (complete with Bill Tidy
cartoon beer pump clip) and Old Legover.
Swaton
Swaton commenced in June 2007 on
the owner’s farm and
now has 4 beers – Happy Jack (4.2%), Kiss Goodnight (4.5%), Three
Degrees (4.7%) and Dozy Bull (4.5%). A visitor centre comprising
farm
shop and café etc. opened in 2008 within the brewery
premises.
Open Tuesday- Saturday 8.30am – 5 pm.
8 Sail Brewery, Heckington
The brewery has just opened and
will be
sending its first brew to pubs and beer festivals soon.
Beer is going to Grantham Beerfest and should be on at the Ship,
Fosdyke and possibly the Moores Arms, Frampton at the same time.
